even mice are quiet and asleep
because they borrow from unknown cats
deafening blankets from recording studios
and mousegrey sheets as shelters for the night
they don't like music
they don't want to listen to it
they just try not to be heard
while their screeching teeth
are biting Mickey Mouse's ears
silence, stillness all around

this is a very nice poem... i like it a lot.
who are the mice? i am guessing they are representing people who never understood or cared about the spirit of rock n roll. or are they part of the music business and doing their mischief hidden in the background? why mickey mouse - are they killing fun and innocence of childhood?
wow, i love poetry that allows so many interpretations but doesnt offer any correct solution itself...
